WHEREAS, Executive Order No. MJF 98-7, signed on February 16, 1998, amended several provisions of Executive Order No. MJF 97-54, while Executive Order Nos. MJF 98-9, signed on March 3, 1998; MJF 98-18, signed on April 29, 1998; and MJF 98-30, signed on May 26, 1998, amended only the provision on the Commission's membership; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Executive Order No. MJF 97-54, as amended, in order to add four (4) additional members to the Commission;
NOW THEREFORE I, M.J. "MIKE" FOSTER, JR., Governor of the state of Louisiana, by virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution and the laws of the state of Louisiana, do hereby order and direct as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 5 of Executive Order No. MJF 97-54, as amended by Section 3 of Executive Order No. MJF 98-7, and Section 1 of Executive Order Nos. MJF 98-9, MJF 98-18, and MJF 98-30, is amended to provide as follows:
The Commission shall be composed of a maximum of twenty-one (21) members who shall be appointed by, and serve at the pleasure of, the governor. The membership of the Commission shall be selected as follows:
SECTION 2: All other sections and subsections of Executive Order No. MJF 97-54, as amended by Executive Order Nos. MJF 98-7, MJF 98-9, MJF 98-18, and MJF 98-30, shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3: The provisions of this Order are effective upon signature and shall remain in effect until amended, modified, terminated, or rescinded by the governor, or terminated by operation of law.
