WHEREAS, amending Executive Order No. MJF 99-5 would clarify the manner in which the Order is being interpreted and applied by the governor and the State Public Health Officer
NOW THEREFORE, I, M.J. "MIKE" FOSTER, JR., Governor of the state of Louisiana, by virtue of the authority vested by the Constitution and the laws of the state of Louisiana, do hereby order and direct as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 2 of Executive Order No. MJF 99-5 is amended to provide as follows: As set forth in Section 4 of this Order, the State Public Health Officer is ordered to take all necessary and immediate action to inspect the Delta Women's Clinic located in Baton Rouge and all other medical and health related facilities in the state of Louisiana which are not being regularly inspected to ensure compliance with appropriate health, safety, and sanitation standards.
SECTION 2: Section 4 of Executive Order No. MJF 99-5 is amended to provide as follows: The State Public Health Officer, upon sufficient grounds, is ordered to inspect facilities operating in the state of Louisiana in which medical and health related procedures occur to ensure that such facilities are operating in accordance with appropriate health, safety, and sanitation standards.
SECTION 3: All other sections and subsections of Executive Order No. MJF 99-5 shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4: The provisions of this Order are effective upon signature and shall remain in effect until amended, modified, terminated, or rescinded by the governor, or terminated by operation of law.
