SUBJECT:  Object 3785 - Other Charges Clients/Clients Related

Currently several objects (2200, 2210, 3680, 5200, 5210) are being used in the Uniform Payroll System (UPS) to charge payments made to patients and those who serve as sitters to the patients. These individuals receive less than minimum wage and do not have taxes withheld. To standardize these costs, a new object 3785 – Other Charges Clients/Clients Related has been established in ISIS. This object must not be used in UPS. It must be used when the new payroll/personnel system (SAP) begins. Below is the definition of the object:

Payments made to clients (patients) and clients related (i.e. grandparent sitters for patients). Payments are not subject to tax withholding.

Agencies that make these type payments should use object 3785. Those agencies that do not have these type payments but use objects 2200, 2210, 3680, 5200, and 5210 should continue to use these objects as appropriate when SAP begins.

Definitions for all objects, revenues, and balance sheet accounts can be found at the OSRAP web site (http://doa.louisiana.gov/osrap/osrap.htm) under policy and procedures, Chapter 21.
