Telecommunications Information Notice 25-05 End of Support for Mitel Clearspan Communicator Client

The Office of Technology Services would like to inform customers of an upcoming change affecting the desktop and mobile client for the Hosted Voice Systems line of service. The proprietary Mitel Clearspan Communicator desktop and mobile client applications are no longer supported by the HVS vendor. The Network Communication Services Systems Projects team will work closely with agencies over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition to an alternate, fully-supported application.
Consolidated IT customers will be transitioned to a Microsoft Teams Integrated Soft Client VoIP solution. This industry-standard, vendor-agnostic solution will provide consistency with the entire suite of Microsoft applications supported by OTS. The Teams service is billed at $19.00, which provides a Premium VoIP seat inclusive of voicemail-to-email, desktop and mobile soft client access, Enhanced 911 service, and user/feature modifications at no additional cost.
The Teams solution is available to non-consolidated IT agencies as well, or those customers may choose the Clearspan VoIP soft client called PING. The PING service is billed at $19.00, which provides a Premium VoIP seat inclusive of voicemail-to-email, desktop and mobile soft client access, and Enhanced 911 service.
Agencies requiring further details regarding VoIP soft client options should submit a Network/Telecom Project Request for additional information.
